Turns out my ActivityPub code can send mentions - I've just been using the wrong actor ID for the past few hours.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be cleaning up the mess I made of this half-installed localhost Mastodon instance. Or maybe I'll just barrel on through so I have it on hand
