So, the power company apparently unplugged my neighborhood to upgrade equipment. A little advance warning might have been nice.

Now if you'll excuse me I'll be clinging to all my USB batteries and trying to find a good spot for 4G reception to tether from my phone

I'm not really versed in how the cell network works these days, but I do know my reception tanks when power goes out in the block. So my guess is there's a tower nearby on our same chunk of the power grid.

In other news, I seem to have found a corner of the attic where if I lean my phone just right I can get 150ms pings to google and almost no packet loss.
