"Generating a Firefox static theme from a web page"
wherein I try to elaborate on that thing I said earlier about generating a zip file from client-side JS code

I've always thought it was silly that scifi space ships with artificial gravity could have dangerous falls. I mean, just reshape the fields for safety where there'd be long drops.
Doesn't work for brute force spin gravity, obviously, but should work for technobabble field generators.
@sorin I'm thinking probably not, given large enough images. But, it's seemed super fast for what I've thrown at it so far. Could consider tossing it at a web worker if need be
Turned on the TV, it was on a news channel. Stressed me out after 10 minutes. So I switched over to How It's Made on the Sci channel for self-soothing
@Insultron2000 honk honk
I am stupidly tickled by that Banksy painting that self-shredded at auction https://boingboing.net/2018/10/06/dead-symbolic-innit.html
@fluffy Yeah, like I'm reading some reports saying the painting is worth 50% more since it self-destructed, just for the concept of the thing
@fluffy Heh oh yeah, I remember that one
Watching this How It's Made episode from 2008 on how player piano rolls are made.
The factory still uses an Apple ][ to run the equipment that punches the holes in the rolls.
I'm probably off by orders of magnitude, but sometimes I wonder if rather than all the money & effort spent on self-driving AI it wouldn't have been cheaper & easier to just run more rails everywhere
Is it just me or does a Mastodon instance throw an awful lot of traffic at w3.org, w3id.org, and web-payments.org for JSON-LD contexts? Maybe it's just my dev install
It does seem weird that the ActivityPub stuff I've been working on gets a lot of Delete activities from instances all over. Seems like Mastodon shouts at every known endpoint when a user deletes their account?
So, Hulu is annoyingly takes like 8 clicks of "are you sure? want free stuff? maybe a pause?" to cancel.
Netflix is annoying because they make me type my 32-character-long random password when setting up the teevee
Somebody once told me that bittorrent & kodi are pretty good
