Watching Nightflyers on Syfy. Kind of liking it as scifi junk food. But also disliking it for the reason I dislike most horror: Everything that happens seems to be the result of stupid decisions.

@bunnyhero Yeah, some of the few horror stories I've liked have competence porn attached.

Alternately the stories that spooked me tended to have have curiosity and "forbidden knowledge" getting folks in trouble.

One of my favorite things is seeing right wingers slam Google for "censoring conservatives" and then say they'll always use Chrome and never use Firefox because "Mozilla fired a conservative" and all of it just makes my head hurt.

It's also fun sometimes working at a mission-driven place where we're never mission-driven enough for some very loud people

@cambrian_era I giggle every time I look down

Lydia Liza and Josiah Lemanski - Baby It's Cold Outside

This is a less creepy version, I promise

@garbados I would 100% watch that

I'm eating some "nuclear" instant ramen with a couple of fried eggs on top for lunch and it's everything I dreamed it could be

Also, a "nuclear" instant ramen pro tip: apply some lip balm before eating

cool cool cool

@Lumb gotta be a fast one though

@hirnbrot@mstdn.io yes

@hirnbrot@mstdn.io also: cool cool cool

Catching myself starting to slip "owo" and "uwu" into my code along with other metasyntactic variable names like "foo", "bar", and "baz"

Refreshing myself on Web Components and ES6 imports - and I'm kind of amazed that those both "just work" without any pre-processing on the installs of Firefox, Chrome, and Edge on my machine.

vanilla-web-components.glitch.

Haven't tried on Safari (because I have no mac anymore) or any other version, but I'm just amazed that this new stuff (honestly a few years old now) works

Like, how cool is it that you can import JS modules from across the web like so:

import {render, html} from "unpkg.com/lit-html/lit-html.js";

Sure, that's inadvisable for security reasons, but it's kind of nifty

I just finally saw the Sonic the Hedgehog movie poster.

Oh.

This Sonic the Hedgehog movie could only be good if it were done in the style of Speed Racer directed by The Wachowskis

So I bought another Steam Link even though I barely use the first one I bought. It was $2, though, and I saw instructions on how to get root on it. So another toy I guess?

Also, there's something to be said for buying new electronics just for the smell
