I see this cat petting chart and hear that you just don't pet cat bellies.

But weirdly, 4 of 5 cats we've lived with have appeared to love belly pets.

Purring, stretching, rolling. Maybe a gentle "that's enough" kick or nip if the petting gets too vigorous or goes on too long.

And then our one cat who does not prefer belly pets simply prances away if there's an attempt like he's ticklish. Never a bite or a swipe.

I feel bad weaponizing it, but sometimes he gets a belly tickle to make him stop getting into food or whatever.

Careful, right wingers - the more mean things you say about lefties, the more I read about soviet space dogs. (it's actually a bunch of sad stories with nice design work)

I was just reminded of this Linkin Park x Seinfeld mashup today and have died.

You know what I really appreciate right now? That bottle of nasal spray I bought at a Shoppers in Toronto and neglected to throw out when I returned to the US. The stuff practically bulldozed my sinuses and makes me so happy for medical science.

"Back to the future of the Internet: guidance from the Web’s open origins for today’s problems" by Mitchell Baker describes in great detail why I've spent 25 years of my life working on the web and over 10 of those years at Mozilla.
