Okay, so here's a thing that's not my teakettle brain exploding:

One of my favorite DJs ever started streaming again at bigsonicheaven.com - shoegaze, britpop, chill stuff.

Back in the late 90s / early 2000s I even went so far as to buy a USB FM tuner for my PC, so I could record his late night shows and burn them to a CDRW to listen to at work the next day

In that vein, I noticed this time around he has a "now playing" widget on his stream page. So I figured, I know how to scrape web things, maybe I'll write a script to collect all the tracks he's playing.

Then I was like also, I know how to use APIs and have a Spotify account. Maybe I'll pipe his now-playing tracks into a playlist.

So I did that...

With some hackery and massaging, this script has picked up Darren Revell streaming over 1025 unique songs for Big Sonic Heaven. Like holy shit, this playlist is up to 75 hours.

Like on one hand, I'm almost afraid to tell this guy I've been snarfing up his playlist. But on the other, damn he's put a lot of work into this 24/7 set of music.

I've set this playlist to download on my phone, in anticipation of my next work trip-- but then hahaha there goes my brain making that teakettle noise again.

Anyway, it's good music and he's a good DJ.
