@Azure Sometimes I feel like it's just me who hates hearing his own name. I also hate using names. Really uncomfortable to me but lots of other folks seem to be having a blast with names.

@Azure Hah, then that's exactly how I feel. I'm really uncomfortable with direct address, whether toward me or using it for someone else. Almost always use context. Hell, even with my wife, I rarely ever use her name.

@Azure Yeah, same. Best I've ever come up with is that I'm overstimulated by such direct attention focus.

Like call someone by their name and I'm speared in a searchlight. Much the same when my name is used.

@ticky Instantly knew what mechanism you were talking about :) I had a PowerBook G4 12" and it had that delightful latch too
