It wouldn’t be hard to build a bot that indexes solely the public posts from actors it’s been asked to and been allowed to follow. No scraping! Servers will gleefully deliver the data!

But socializing the thing and persuading folks to engage with it lacks the mad scientist rush of swimming in permissionless torrents of data that don’t talk back.
