Just found out that I can probably expense a bass guitar and accoutrements with work as a personal development thing and now I really want to do that.

I've had "learn bass guitar" on my bucket list since high school and never got around to it.

Like, so far 🤞 I haven't been hit by industry layoffs, but I'm suddenly motivated to see what things I could acquire and expense with work that would bring me joy if I suddenly had a bunch more time on my hands

The cruddy thing is that I should really be doing this 24/7/365, but so it goes

I also kind of want to get into building a modular synth mess, so maybe I expense that too 🤷‍♂️

There's both a used instrument shop and a modular synth shop in easy bike ride range of my house, so maybe I should think about that this weekend

@rose I'm sure this stinks of bad wypipo things, but: I keep thinking of how my grampa was active in local community stuff like the Lions Club and the VFW hall. And I'm like, what if that but small groups doing internet for each other.

Back when we first bought a house in 2008-ish, there was That One Guy who maintained a website for the neighborhood with Apple iWeb. Just little things like calendars for parties and photo galleries for stuff held in the nearby park

When Apple discontinued iWeb, That One Guy gave it up and someone else moved it to a Facebook page where it went to die.

I kinda wish Apple had leaned into web-making tools (among other companies)
