@Macross Ohh I forgot there was a copy there! I remember it used to be really hard to find and I want to say folks were asked not to scan it (but I'm fuzzy on there). Either way, I got my own 2nd edition hardcopy happily within arms reach :)

@sofiav Well, I guess my thing is that folks are regarding this system as an independent entity with agency, when really it's a generative text system for which the folks running the servers should be held responsible.
It has no intentions - but its owners do, and we should really be paying less attention to it and more to what the folks behind the curtain are doing.
That is, don't talk about Bing / Sydney as a a liar. Talk about the folks running this software and presenting it as something to be regarded as valuable and trusted.
Something on my computer booped at me in a particular way. I have no recollection of what that particular boop meant.
Since I've been puttering around with a BBS and installing old DOS DOOR games, my brain is suggesting it would be neato to make my own game with ANSI graphics. I sigh, heavily, as I consider that I might start this but never finish it.
@damianlewis One of the main reaons I say Bing has no agency is because it only responds. It has no goals and initiates no actions. It just replies to queries and yields continuations to prompts
@carmensandiego GIVE IT BACK
@danhon That's amazing! Is that like a diy pancake bar?
@cflynnbooks I remember typing in some BASIC version of Eliza back in the 80s :)
Do computers make you uncomfortable? Tell me more...
I have a soundcloud but it's just got some of my old Amiga MODs from the 90s and this cover of a C64 cover of Stationary Ark
Is this anything?
Now I want to fire up sunvox again, that Stationary Ark cover wasn't half bad if I don't say so myself
It goes with this graphical demo, also a cover of a C64 program called Swinth
