Apparently, someone launched a high-altitude burger earlier today on a TikTok live stream? Tragically it didnโ€™t make it back down

Ah and here is a video from the project. High altitude balloon, and he planned to eat it upon retrieval?

@pixel amateurs

@mavica_again I did not know this, and they had clearly superior handling of the payload!

@Wintermute_BBS @mavica_again maybe folks think itโ€™ll give them super powers like the Fantastic Four? Except I guess in that scenario, the burger gets the powers

@voltur @thegibson Depending on the timing, I've seen that go very wrong

@danhon I guess at least they're not like "we noticed you have a mortgage, here are more mortgages in which you may be interested"

@mediaarchaeologylab ohhh, I think I had this book! Alarms went off in my head

Happy MAR10 day, punch some bricks if you celebrate

Got new slippers today. This makes me happy. I guess I am an old. Next, I shall refill the bird feeder.

Hmm, also, is there a word for the urgency felt to spend expense-able funds at work before being hit with a possible layoff? Purely hypothetical question

@darius Hey, we had one (1) ray from the sun strike our solar panels today. That's great Portland weather :)

@cinja @darius That's at least two photons!

@darius @danhon After playing around pretty successfully using sqlite full text search on a personal mastodon bot watching the streaming feed, I kind of wish there was a lower-requirements search option built-in than elastic search

@danhon @Zee @darius FWIW, that's kind of what I have here, though I haven't been running it for awhile. It drank from the streaming API firehose on my account and ingested it all into a lil SQLite DB with terrible web search UI

github.com/lmorchard/masto-rec

@danhon @Zee @darius Oh! And I have a neglected install of it running here on a separate account, as an opt-in search experiment that I haven't gotten back to

Nothing like a little warranty violation for lunch

@twobraids That sounds delightful!

@lmorchard i still think itโ€™s pretty cool that i can flash firmware from a (chrome) browser

@knirscher Oh, hmm! I couldn't get ESPHome working on the first try with this device - flash went okay but then it couldn't configure wifi. Also Firefox wasn't working for me with webserial

@knirscher Those are all honeypot passwords that lead straight to a rickroll

@cd0 Oh, well, that's just standard practice

@dcm @dria @Mossop nothin like good mulch

@dria @Mossop That reminds me I should drink more tea

@simon @danhon @Zee @darius

I just kind of assume if it can be piped into SQLite, you've already piped it there ๐Ÿ˜

Tinkering with a few of these IoT devices in Home Assistant and I really want to just hook them all up to a Clapper

The last time I had a Clapper, many many years ago, I hooked it up to a halogen lamp and learned about amperage limits and the melting point of a Clapper
