@e_er1n You're doing way better than me: I turned over in bed and pulled an abdominal muscle a couple of weeks ago
@e_er1n Yeah, I'm just a sedentary blob, that's my only excuse π
Watched some more @TechConnectify and now even more I want to get a giant Ford F-150 Lightning, mainly to park a big mobile slab of batteries in my backyard
(I'd probably still mainly ride my e-bike around town to actually get anywhere)
I think my ideal car would be, like, an electric Subaru Outback with lots of batteries and maybe even a removable expansion slab of battery that can be shoved into the hatchback when I'm not carrying much cargo. Hook that up to my house as a backup when it's not being driven around
(Really, I just want batteries. The wheels just make it convenient to move around. And maybe drive somewhere on rare occasions)
@cd0 Uh oh. I, uh, am hearing that perhaps my rates could be adjusted more competitively
We're getting an induction stove top installed as part of our kitchen rebuild, replacing a gas appliance. Someday I'd like to look into an electric heat pump to replace the air-conditioner and gas furnace.
The one gas appliance that I cling to in my heart is our tankless water heater. After years of running the tank out during showers, endless hot water is one of the few luxuries that I think I'd have to find a way to keep.
Still, the idea of a heat pump hot water tank is intriguing. Maybe we just need a real big tank that slowly heats over the course of a day
For context, @TechConnectify talks about this stuff over in this video
What I really miss from some of our past houses is a boiler-and-radiators heating system rather than forced air. Maybe a weird preference, but radiators warming everything in the room always felt more cozy to me than blowing air around. I wonder if there's a decent electric equivalent to that?
@sindarina For some reason it really appeals to me to be able to drive it away. (Also I want an EV anyway) That said, yeah, a house battery is probably more sensible π
@danhon My thoughts drift to the Treo 650 in my basement with a broken screen that I've been meaning to fix for almost 20 years π€
@danhon Part of me says yes, but part of me says I should actually just dispose of the one I have π
@BeTongLen Yeah, that just looks like it's time to get a new second chair
@whalecoiner that's a real cute lookin lil boy
(This, after he just got done thoughtfully scooping litter out of the box that's temporarily in my office while the boys are cloistered in here with me to keep them out from underfoot around the contractors working in the house)
