Dang. I decided to ease up on the hermitage last week and immediately got hit with the kind of week-long sinus infection I used to get twice a year but have avoided since 2020.

Decided not to mask up, but thinking I might have FAFO'd. Luckily, have tested negative for COVID a couple times since then.

I'm back to wanting a Quarian envirosuit for excursions, because I really didn't miss these sinus gremlins.

Sometimes I wonder if I made myself a bit of a bubble boy since I stopped working in an office almost 15 years ago and lessened the challenges to my immune system.

Seems like whenever I did end up going to a big get-together or all-hands for work, I'd come home with sinus gremlins.

I don't quite remember getting them so reliably before I started remote work - but maybe I just don't quite remember life before remote work altogether 😅

Finished reading Becky Chambers' Record of a Spaceborn Few while curled up in bed with a box of tissues yesterday.

Glad I already had the tissues handy for the sinus gremlins, because that's a cozy scifi book with a bit of a surprise gut-punch about half-way through.

But, I could abide hanging out in that universe for quite awhile.

I saw some reviews dinging the book for meandering, having too many characters, and spending too long just sort of lingering on world building. But, for me, that was what I liked about it

@SrRochardBunson I think I was 6 years old when I told a relative at a party "well, if you don't want to talk about computers, there's probably no point in us talking" - and I thought I was just being polite & efficient
