@dddaaannn Hmm, been awhile since I last used Gatsby, but I thought it did a lot of client-side react rendering π€
(I could be wrong on that though)

@requiem Maybe you could, like, expense one of these restaurant pager systems? https://www.amazon.com/Restaurant-Wireless-Customer-Service-Distancing/dp/B0BH2P1P7Q/ref=sr_1_3
@simon I'm also curious how much of a difference "an AI owned by a corporation" versus "a personal AI" might make?
Maybe not a critical difference? But I would kind of think the power differential is a thing
@evacide maybe a little one, as a treat?
Black Friday, when they fixed the item duplication glitch in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
@wohali That is also most of my tiktok feed right now, too
Another lazyweb toot: Any friendos out there have opinions on BOOX e-ink tablets? I'm eyeing up a Tab X because a) it's A4 paper sized and b) it's Android
I'm also tempted by a reMarkable2 for writing and such, but the notion of having an actual A4-sized e-ink screen for PDFs and whatnot is really attractive
@Mossop FWIW, I also have a Kindle Paperwhite for general paperback-book-like reading. Eyeing this Boox stuff warily in comparison
@wohali Hmmm. That's probably the more modern practical choice but I really like e-ink as a concept and not so much like iPad as a concept. But π€·ββοΈ :blobsadleft:β
@Greg I'm also a user of nice paper and fountain pens, at least for daily journal pages. But also I'm not sure I'd replace that with a tablet ever
@Mossop Yeah, I've had a Kindle since 2010 or so, so I guess I'm already in that silo. Though also I have all my purchased books de-DRM'd and stashed in a backup folder, because I'm apparently a masochist
@pixel Yeah, I'm kinda torn on that too. Apparently you can run Obsidian on a BOOX device, because of Android. But also I have a pocket sized phone, so I want a full-A4 tablet if I'm going to get another device
@Greg Ohhh, that is a significant factor to consider π€
@evilpeacock @NanoRaptor I would absolutely buy a book like this in the style of Open Circuits from No Starch Press
@cinebox @toish @kieran @NanoRaptor
I want to touch the shiny copper things but I have a hunch that's a bad idea

they put a cork on my fork, for safety
@benbrown @deadbeefmonster My condolences on your soon-to-be-empty drink. I hope you can find a way to move on and get a refill.
I have so much item duping to accomplish before I accept a software update on my workstation here
@mathowie pspspsps
@zrail I got it about 3 years ago, but I suspect they don't make it anymore? It's a Power-A switch stand
https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Compact-Metal-Stand-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B082QYNTSK
@zrail Similar to something more generically branded like this, which I have a different version of for a tablet in the kitchen

@kissane I would say it's more acceptable than Facebook's old emotional manipulation experiments on the news feed - but on par with stepping on legos vs stepping on cat vomit as an acceptability spectrum
(oh hey, I just realized you're quoted in this article. π )
Accidentally released a firefly from the depths on one of the sky islands, and I just thought "well i bet that poor guy's confused"
@lordbowlich Link really is just a menace wherever he goes, which is where I take him
