The ADHD levels here are just off the chart:

So, I really like this streaming station Big Sonic Heaven. It's run by DJ Darren Revell, who used to host a show by the same name on 96.3 FM in the Detroit area. Shoegaze, dreampop, post-punk, good stuff.

A couple of years ago, I hacked together this project to poll his Now Playing widget and automatically accumulate a Spotify playlist from it. Alas, about a year ago, that widget disappeared and I never got around to fixing the script.

Fast forward to today: I fell down a rabbit hole and suddenly figured out a new way to revive the script. I even dockerized it so maybe I can neglect it even more successfully.

Here's the playlist, someday I should move it to something not-Spotify.

Actually, a thing I need to figure out someday is how to migrate all my playlists off Spotify. Maybe onto something like Plex. I'm sure it's a solved problem, but most solutions I've randomly googled look shady.

@mav Yeah, that's true. Though, I do actually have a good chunk of the stuff in my playlists also on a local NAS ripped from CDs. Would be nice enough to match between the two

@mav Heh, I haven't even looked into the Plex API yet, so you are actually a lil ahead of me! :D

@thegibson Reticulate them splines

@TheDarkHorse livin the life!

Aw man, the show I've been waffling over going to for weeks now has sold out 2 days beforehand

(i'm not good at leaving the house)

@onelson Sony audio devices have always had really neato design

@onelson If I had $4k to splurge on that I'd probably also just be listening to, like, 96kbit MP3s on it with bluetooth earbuds

Follow up: This is me reading news via my own DIY RSS reader, whichever one I happened to write this year

Also, I feel like a hoodie, PJ pants, and a cozy beanie are a 21st century wizard robe

@c0debabe If you wanna be, you absolutely are!

@craigmaloney That seems like the weirdest "well actually" game and so much easier to play than actually writing anything :sadcowblob:

Had today off, decided to do some shopping at Costco

Evidently, the entire population of North also picked that same option in the life sim for today

(I’ve been playing Persona 5 again)

"only playing in theaters"

You have no power over me. When I grew up, movies didn't come home for like 18-24 months - if ever. I can wait.

Although, a significant chunk of my childhood was marred by disappointment because I fell asleep during the last 20 minutes of Star Trek: The Motion Picture at a drive-in theater and never learned how it ended until I'd grown a few feet taller.

Of course, I'm not really the ideal target market for theaters.

There was a short span of years when I lived walking distance from a theater. I had a great time going there for deserted matinees, because I work from home and had a few days without meetings. I'd sit dead center and bask in the sound system and eat too much popcorn.

But, like, go when there's a crowd? Haha, no, my Plex server is more enticing.

Like, $5 for a mystery movie at an AMC? Haha, no, I'd rather chew aluminum foil
