Hmm, the GTA VI trailer looks pretty good. I'll probably watch some Twitch plays and then buy it in a few years when it's on sale

@craigcook I think one of these toys ended up being about $0.05 - $0.20 worth of filament? Not much labor besides minding the machine occasionally. I guess also electricity and wear & tear, but that seems fairly minimal too.

@axoplasm Goonie Corn

This latest Discovery / Warner Bros / Sony fiasco with disappearing "purchases" is why I don't "buy" anything digital unless it's a) on deep discount, b) I can back it up on my NAS, or c) I just absolutely really want it now and I'm okay with it disappearing tomorrow.

Still, the fuckery really seems to be rising, lately.

Fell down a rabbit hole last night and added a cheap ESP32 camera to my 3D printer didthis.app/user/lmorchard/pro

Also, giving a go at printing a replacement for the control panel door on my old Commodore 1702 monitor. It was intact until a few years ago when a cat knocked it off the shelf. This filament seems like a promising color match?

@enot ( 😅 this is also a sneaky attempt to alpha test another thing I'm working on )

@luckytran I guess I'll need to tape my driver's license to my mask if I ever visit Atlanta

@maddiefuzz @enot I think we will be looking for testers before the end of the year.

It's kind of a rough app, but looking to get feedback to improve. I'm also agitating for Mastodon integration for auto-posting project updates

@earthshine This, and also, as applied to myself and my mental weather

@maddiefuzz it is THE WORST (also dealing with this right now 😅 )

@arstechnica yo ho ho :jollyroger:

Super depressing thing about this is that this is the best we can do with the most intense tin-foil-hat Big Brother surveillance economy machinery we can muster without actually causing a riot

TIL about the "Double Empathy theory" about cross-neurotype communication difficulties and it explains so much.

Clearing out my tabs and one of them was my Amazon wishlist (which I still use, to my great shame)

Had called my Mom last night and she asked if my Amazon had gotten hacked. Because, I've been rapidly adding various random kitchen-wares and machine screw sets since having acquired a 3D printer.

@enot @maddiefuzz Yeah, we're kind of looking at an incremental slide into that...

Starting as a Mastodon client that posts from an account elsewhere seems like a good starting point, so the site is kind of a side-car to what you already have.

But, also looking at ActivityPub and representing projects as OrderedCollections of Notes and want to see how well that could be followed from Mastodon and friends

I guess we're going to have to add "theory-of-mind literacy" along with media and statistical literacy to essential living-in-the-future skills

Also, I need to go re-read Peter Watt's Blindsight and refresh myself on how "Rorschach" talks to the humans

@djsundog toot toot 🍍 :awoo:

@technomancy I think many of them checked, but using the wrong metrics. Or, the appropriate metrics for keeping various jobs.

@BathysphereHat But but I want to be delighted by the revelation of DLC! (no i don't)

@maddiefuzz sounds like a supplement scam "bulk up your nuts BROTHERRRRRRR"
