Aww, man: I soldered up an #rc2014 ESP8266 Wifi Module today, and I think I might have let the magic smoke out.
Noticed the ESP8266 was getting really warm, then hot. Then noticed I had a couple of the jumpers set horizontally rather than vertically over for the UART select. Not sure if that would have done it
Rest of the machine seems fine, but the wifi module is just a toaster now. I think I have another ESP-12 knocking around here somewhere, if I can desolder and replace. It's a cheap part but a bummer it didn't work first time out
