@LeftCoast I want to say my wife found it as a carpet remnant from Astro Carpet Mills? It's genuine institutional bowling alley / arcade carpet - which is nice, since it's pretty robust and easy to clean

Just heard about Vernor Vinge. :blobsadleft:

I never met him, but I read everything by him I could get my hands on. A Fire Upon the Deep, A Deepness in the Sky, Rainbows End, all particularly and permanently lodged in my brain meats. I think about his Marooned in Realtime and the stasis bobbles constantly.

@kestral It even glows under black light :D

Man, I wish most video & audio platforms didn't top out at 2x speed in their playback controls. I know I'm weird, but sometimes I want 3x or 4x especially if there are captions available

This probably also sounds like bragging, but it's basically because if something's too slow my attention wanders and I lose the plot easily. So, the slow thing takes even more time because I often have to stop, back up, and rewatch things. It's ADHD, I'd guess.

But, if something's going very fast, I've got a better chance of keeping my whacky waving inflatable tube man of an attention span mostly fixated. And I can read much faster than people naturally talk. So, something screaming along at 2-4x speed with captions is pretty ideal for me, most times
