@danhon Thinking about building a pass-through USB enhancement widget for Brother printers with a low-cost monthly subscription which will periodically disconnect the device and/or print fragments of random wikipedia pages.
Hmm, it might be the ethernet port on this Caldigit thunderbolt dock. It's never worked well on a Mac, to my great frustration. Yanked the plug on that, switched to wifi, and now the connection has been solid for 5 minutes or so
@anjune I might be convinced to offer 6 bars of gold-pressed latinum
@squeevening I started making an espresso. I looked away. I looked back and the espresso is flooding across the kitchen :blobscream:
@squeevening Also, I started to make an espresso, only to discover someone (me?) had already made an espresso and it was still warm
@bitprophet Yeah, this is a TS4. Generally, I've been not enthusiastic about the thing. Seems to work great on a Dell windows laptop, but has had a parade of flakiness on a few different Macs
A thing that took me way too long to figure out today: I'm doing some machine learning stuff. I'm trying to do it with Docker containers, because those are easily repeatable configurations. The Python libraries I'm screwing with apparently support the GPU on my MacBook Pro. But, none of the stuff I'm trying seems to be seeing the GPU?
Er, yeah, duh: Because I'm running Linux-based Docker containers inside a virtual machine. Just a few too many layers of abstraction makes the circus music play.
@squeevening waste not, want not!
