US politics

I really wish that most interviews with politicians started with the question "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

Just saw Quake 3 is on Game Pass, so I dropped in for a bit. Found someone had a server full of bots running a map called Runtfest.

Ohhh man, this was my favorite kind of map in Unreal Tournament. You're tiny, in a kid's bedroom. Sniper rifle's up in the big ceiling light.

Also I don't want to be tired and go to bed, I want to play with Picotron

I keep meaning to get back to poking at some fantasy console gamedev. Only ever managed to finish this Poke the Mongo game

You know what makes me feel old? I can't remember the last time I went up stairs in Beast Mode. Gonna have to address that

@mavica_again @boogah Oof, well, really this picture tells all the words

Cloudflare might have protected you from a cognitohazard that I'm gleefully willing to relay :blob_grinning_sweat:

I have adulted again today. Pray I do not adult further. (no really, pray for me, this adulting shit sucks)

A lot of folks saying we shouldn't speak ill of the dead sure look nervous

Just because a door can be opened and can be installed with standardized parts doesn't mean it's somehow "against the spirit of doors" for it to be locked and only admit certain people at certain times.

Like, not everybody needs access to everybody's living rooms. It's not "against the spirit of living rooms" to be selective about who gets to hang out there. Not every place with a roof needs to be a conference center

FWIW, I'm subtooting about folks in the fediverse blocking Meta's Threads servers. It's not "against the spirit of the open standard" to use ActivityPub to build a selective network.

The openness means you can make choices. The openness doesn't mean you're obligated to leave your door unlocked and your living room available to randos. If you want to do that, knock yourself out. It's not hypocrisy to decline to do that.

@tankgrrl Yeah, personally I think if someone's inclined to speak ill of me after I'm dead, they probably got a good reason :blobsweats:

@joshua I'm always kind of confused by folks who really really want to talk at other folks who don't want to be talked at and get salty when they can't

That's like 4 people now who thought I was talking to a cat with this thread. :thinknyan: I think they're on to something, maybe I really am a cat dad
