@jpf Yeah, I think I'm up to like 17 eggs now
@jpf Yeah, I think I'm up to like 17 eggs now
@jpf Yup, been through there to the fast travel room
@jpf Ah yeah, I did the thing with the fish and the flute :)
@rhosyn Yeah, that's where last night I paved over my Windows 11 machine with this Bazzite linux distro.
Looks like it's going to be a slight pain but it ran BG3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Firefox. So that's pretty good. I am also a computer masochist
Apparently, on the Joe Rogan podcast, Terrence Howard (the actor) claimed that his expertise in astrophysics leads him to believe that the Great Red Spot on Jupiter is an anus that will shit out a planet in a billion years?
I'm not going to link to it, you can google it, but I absolutely don't want any of what he's having
@rhosyn I need to learn more about it, but an encouraging thing is this distro seems aimed at requiring less end-user sysadmin jiggerypokery through consistent atomic collections of packages tested together? And apps are installed as self-contained bundles?
All I know is so far my video and sound and network cards all work at the same time, which isn't where desktop linux was for me a few years ago
One casualty in my gaming PC pave-over last night is that I may have lost a 200+ hour save for Baldur's Gate 3 because the cloud sync may not have worked as expected?
Ah well, trying to embrace the impermanence of all things. It's been a couple of months since I last played BG3 and I'll probably forget what all the buttons do if I started again with that save.
@ifixcoinops Yeah, like Mac OS X and Apple hardware becoming a bit more shit opened the door for me liking Windows a lot more. Now, Windows being a bit more shit has me dallying with Linux a lot more.
I feel like I'm looking for a Linux distro that's dubbed not subtitled and I will feel no shame
(wait, I got that dub/sub thing wrong at first, thus further illustrating my refusal to understand)
@srol Reminds me of Skyrim when I had a mod that materialized mass quantities of cheese around my guy
Finally ordered myself a game dad after much wary circling and brow furrowing. It's a translucent purple Anbernic RG35XX H and I hope I like it. Seems like it might be coming today? I'd rather tinker with that than work
I think this thing can handle some PS1 games? Mainly I'm hoping for Castlevania SotN, maybe Tempest 2000
@mDuo13 On the go for me is sometimes on a plane or in my backyard because I want to touch grass and feed animals but also play an old game. I've kinda bounced between phone, 3DS, and Switch for that, in recent years
Also I guess if I don't entirely like the color of this game dad, I can print a case with my gaudiest of purple filaments

@mcg 3D TVs? oat bran? uranium? I don't think any of those are to the same degree though
In a weird state where I'm expecting delivery of both my new game dad and deck cleaning supplies.
I'm hopping at the sound of every large vehicle passing my house hoping it's a delivery van because I'd rather be playing with either of those things than working.
@emilygorcenski haha i'm in this picture https://github.com/lmorchard/fossilizer
Waiting for a delivery is kind of like waiting for an appointment mode to my ADHD brain, I guess?
Hmm, now it's raining. I guess the game dad will take priority over the deck cleaning. Shame, that
There's a dude on the sidewalk outside my office window who made a phone call in Russian. Then he made a phone call in Japanese. Then he yelled at someone in Spanish and wandered off.
I'm like... are you a spy? do you know John Wick? wait, I didn't see you, you weren't here 😉
The game dad came with an SD card already stuffed to the gills with game ROMs. Of course I threw this card into a fire and replaced it with one full of legitimate backups of physical cartridges and CD-ROMs already in my collection.
Ope. Power’s back
Time to see how well Prusa’s power panic feature works after a mains outage I guess #3dprinting
