@cabel :ohno:
I keep kind of wanting to get a Backbone One gamepad for my phone.
But, I can't quite get over how the price of the gamepad is as much or more than an entire #gamedad and not quite as convenient
@jalefkowit Yeah, I guess that's the thing... I never quite got into any of those games because virtual controls on mobile glass suck. But if I had that controller, I might play them. Kind of a catch-22 but also meh
@vkc I've been an attempted Linux convert since probably 1997 or so when I first installed Slackware from a stack of floppies. But, I've always bounced back to Windows or macOS (nee Mac OS X).
Indeed, my first bounce to OS X was because it ran unix-y things while also painlessly supporting all my hardware at the same time. I've continued to be a Linux user all these years, but mainly at a remove in a VM or a headless machine without need for video or sound.
Over the past month or so, though, I swapped over to a few different linux distros on my gaming PC and landed on Bazzite. It supports all my hardware, it runs all my games. It runs Firefox, for just about everything else I care to run via web apps.
If it keeps up like this, I might just be a persistent convert this time around
@erg0 I would also say this is my 2nd try with bazzite, my first try was all errors everywhere. But I tried it again a week later, all smooth sailing. So, yeah, things aren't quite perfect 😅
But I guess if an update breaks things, I can roll back atomically in one step and ideally that does the needful.

I would absolutely rather use a MouthPad than talk to computers

(hell, I'd rather use a MouthPad than talk to people, most of the time)
A part of me is rather pleased that the URL to my local library system's portal for e-books has become accessible in my Firefox address bar with two keystrokes because I've used it so often
In a product ideation meeting, where part of the conversation sounds a bit like this:
A: Forget about your silly whim!
It doesn't fit the plan
No!
B: I can't believe you're saying
These things just can't be true
Our world could use this beauty
Just think what we might do!
Now that I have a #gamedad and a penchant for swapping OSes on a pile of microSD cards, I'm scratching my head at figuring out how to label these tiny things. Maybe some white-out and a really fine-tipped marker?
