The has survived a few hours and grew up to a slightly larger blobby critter. Chilled out a bit too

Fun fact: I found this on the ground in a mall parking lot in 1997.

@mos_8502 Oh, I never knew that!

us politics

LMFAO at this whole "trump wants a refund" thing over having spent time & money running against Biden, who just dropped out.

Like, my dude, a) Mission Accomplished actually, Biden's not going to be president again and b) maybe you should have campaigned FOR yourself and not AGAINST this one dude. Either way, the time & money worked as planned. It's just that your plan was terrible.

Sucks that it turned out to be a two-phase boss fight, though, huh?

(been trying really hard not to post much of anything politics, but this one just... man...)

re: us politics

Also I keep seeing stuff around, like "what, you're just gonna let them do that to your guy Biden?"

And I'm like, he was never my guy, I was never a fan, I've never really been a fan of anyone in the office.

In fact, I think it's bonkers to have such a cult of personality around the office of a public servant. It's not meant to be a position of idolatry or monarchy. Stick your POTUS fandom merch up your ass.

Ideally, I want a boring ass functionary dork in there who gets shit done and I barely have to think about on a daily basis

re: us politics

I guess the last time I was a fan of the president, it was Reagan and I was 6 and we both liked jelly beans. My opinions have changed since then (but not about the jelly beans)

re: us politics

Okay, I will say one thing I like that's going around about Harris: the "you think you just fell out of a coconut tree?!" meme.

I feel like it's an update to my George Costanza fave, "YOU KNOW WE'RE LIVING IN A SOCIETY"

re: fedi meta filter evasion

@derwinmcgeary Yeah, I think one of my first bouts with this was "birdsite" and switching to just say "twitter" behind a CW.

I mean, if "twitter" is offensive to keep hearing about, better to make it easier to filter out than keep puttering around with euphemisms
