Just saw someone refer to "House of the Dragon" as "Hot D" and I'm not sure I can unregister that from my brain

@waltman @hotdogsladies hah! wondering the same thing

Got an email from Jameco about project enclosures and got unexpectedly enthused. I think I need to get back to my workshop and build some things. Been avoiding it this summer because it's usually unbearably hot in there. I should address that

@mhoye obviously a trap, plow straight ahead

Hahahaha the notion of a subscription mouse from Logitech is a great way to get me thinking about building my own DIY mouse or trackball with my 3D printer and maybe a kit from Ploopy

@kattni I think my big problem out in the workshop / garage / outbuilding we have is that there's no insulation. Though it still traps a lot of heat in the summer - but oddly not so much in the winter. It's an old building, so I'm back & forth on whether it's feasible / worth it to improve that situation

@kattni Yeah, it is one of the main reasons we got this house, very nice to have a separate space to do messy & noisy things

This is still truckin’ at 16 "years" old, even though I forgot to turn off the lights when it went to bed last night πŸ˜…

We'll see how much longer this critter makes it? I'm going on a trip next week and don't think I really want to take it with. But I'm a dork so who knows?

It's been an interesting fidget toy and kind of pomodoro-ish time prompt to pull my ADHD brain out of various rabbit holes and hyperfoci. I didn't really have any of these notions in my head, back in 1997 when I first futzed with it.

Trying to avoid falling too fully for the pet conceit, though, so I'm not too sad when it inevitably "returns to its home planet"

@CursedSilicon the CD-ROM based multimedia encyclopedia thing we had in the library in high school would have loved this hardware

So my login to work Slack just expired on my phone and the workspace disappeared from the client. Still logged in on my work laptop. I find myself reticent to re-add that Slack to my phone πŸ€”

Eh, but I'm traveling for work next week, so alas it's probably best I get that Slack connection working again. Thoughts of rebellious self-care were nice for awhile

@anne Oh, I am actually interested in them both!

I currently daily drive one of these L-Trac trackballs, getting pretty ancient though it still works fine. The Nano looks like it might be too minimal for me, whereas the Adept looks close to a full replacement for what I have

@davidcelis Sets you up perfectly to later be like "optimized away n+1 queries some jerk put in there"

@aud :blobwave:

Both the tamagotchi and the Catsby cat are yelling at me for food, time to take care of the critters
