An annoying thing after a trip: the CPAP machine smells like Outside for awhile, even after changing filters and scrubbing everything down

That feeling when the ebook I want to borrow from the library is immediately available without a hold
@selectric I too have encountered these bagpipe toilet noises and I too bought the wrong replacement at first - you have my condolences
@socketwench that's a cute cozy kitty
@mhoye FWIW, I was there and that big all-company group photo was definitely a scene I regretted being unmasked for - though (knock on wood) so far, so good (personally)? Anecdotally, it seemed like I heard of fewer folks coming down with COVID or other maladies. But, of course that might just be survivorship bias talking.
Having seen republicans go from wearing diapers to taping on giant ear bandages to carrying around semen sample cups really makes me think they're all somehow being piloted by pre-teen boys on a 4chan message board all Ratatouille-in-a-chef-hat style.
@dcm Yeah, but like, I dunno, this seems like brain implants or actual rats-on-heads are involved. It's baffling to me
They're all like "we're not weird" as they dive into the next meme spiral of shoving corncobs up their asses and stomping around making elephant noises for some obscure in-joke reason to own the libs
Next Trump rally is overrun with Bivalve Jesus cosplayers over-committed to the bit, clad in real room-temperature unregulated shellfish, shortly thereafter flooding local hospitals with food poisoning and paralytic toxin cases
lmorchard googling: vesa mount cat bed
(i'm going to have to fabricate this now and get a few more monitor arms for my desk, aren't i?)
@luis_in_brief @aburka @hannah @NanoRaptor They were definitely real and I remember thinking they looked like The Future when I was 11 years old in 1986.
(they still kinda look like The Future to me, but I'm not as happy about that at my current age)
Huh: Because I bought Pocket Casts a long, long time ago and have been using it ever since, they're calling me a "champion" now? That's... nice?
Either way, I'd still recommend it as my favorite podcast tuner to anyone who's looking

With few delusions that any project of mine would ever really "take off", I think maybe there's a niche opening up around a federated service to find cool things and offer search to friends and friends-of-friends?
I'm thinking it could look a bit like a cross between social bookmarking, an RSS reader, and a Mastodon client that specializes in link sharing - all with a small search engine on top for smaller groups of folks?
Like, I dunno, maybe that's just Lemmy and friends in the federated reddit-alike-verse?
But those seem less like "here's a cool thing I found" and more like forum thunderdomes which happen to center around links
I really, really wished that, back in the day (circa 2006), del.icio.us-at-Yahoo! had grown up into a more human-powered search offering as an alternative to Google
@aud Yeah, I would want a system that really leans into links shared by actual humans you know/follow or a few kevin-bacon-degrees away, and devalues automated spidering or discovery.
Oh hey, my iPhone hasn't been backing photos up to my NAS in a really long time. 🤔 Oh, it's because iOS offloaded the app, because I haven't been "using" it in awhile.
Oh and you want me to pay for more storage in iCloud? Ah, thanks Apple, very helpful
