Still making incremental progress on Pebbling Club. This weekend, I partied like it's 2004 and I reinvented Live Bookmarks
My hopeful goal is to get this thing into personally useful shape to serve as my public shared bookmark collection, RSS reader, and an inbox skimming links from my Mastodon feed. And then, after it seems solid enough for me, I might poke around and see who else might want to play
(but it's got a long way to go and I'm trying to stay interested in working on it while also being realistic about progress over time)
@thegibson i got one of those once and it didn't come with a power adapter
Random lazyweb query: If I wanted to stand up a decent little documentation site for my node.js project on github pages, what's a decent option these days?
I'm vaguely considering Eleventy or Starlight, not having really played with either yet. I could always roll my own, but I've got plenty of other things to do in this project
@cinebox Hmm, I've used Read the Docs before, but mainly on Python projects. Might be worth a look, if only for the versioning
things and people need to stop being gross
I think i have inadvertently created a kind of Game of Thrones drama situation with the local scrub jays by supplying them with a source of peanuts
@supersole Same same! I think I saw you post something about web components, and I was like "hey how's sole doing these days?" 😀
It started off with just one scrub jay visiting for peanuts. They'd occasionally just chill on a fence post or branch nearby while I wrote in my journal. They'd sometimes do a little whisper song at me and then kind of gently squawk at me for more peanuts.
Now I think that one is territorially fending off 3 others who've come to feast on peanuts.
I can't quite tell them all apart by sight, but my original friend seems like the one least skittish around me and who habitually grabs at least 2 carefully selected and weighted peanuts with every visit. The others just kind of swoop in and snatch before fleeing.
A local pizza place just emailed me to tell me that my birthday is in a few days and that I should order a pizza with a modest coupon.
I think that might be the most effectively targeted advertisement I've received all year.
Like, tired: Amazon telling me to buy another rice cooker like what I already have
wired: Pizza place telling me to buy another pizza like what I already ate
@cy Oh yeah, they have great pizza and I did at one point volunteer my birthday to their mailing list
photomatt and DHH come to center stage, bow, and declare "The Aristocrats!"
That thing where I've had a very scatter-brained day and I try to put at least a few hours into what I Should Be Doing and it's like fighting brain toddlers throwing tantrums uphill all the way
