An annoying new-ish phenomenon in communications with folks: Direct copypasta from ChatGPT in email responses to questions from me.

These inevitably are wrong or miss the point. And so then I have to spend time correcting / arguing with both the original correspondent and the chatgpt slop they didn't even read themselves before hitting send.

And half the time they're like "well that's what chatgpt said" and then another round me me like "yeah, and it's wrong"

And I'm trying so hard to not be like "use your fuckin brain and stop being a copy/paste conduit"

Like, I'm trying for the sake of my practical career in the current industry to find the good in gen AI stuff. But man so many folks are using this slop to go through the motions to look clever and somehow thinking it's okay

Like, sure I'd love to flip the table and Cleanse the Temple, but my mortgage doesn't care about all that
