@belghast Like, it might be my nostalgia for BBS days, but I keep thinking social media would work better if it drifted back to that kind of shape.

@belghast Also I have a BBS, but no one "calls" it - not even me bbs.decafbad.com/

@belghast I never had the hardware or spare phone line to run a BBS, but they were like my high school teenage social media. Lots of friends ran little boards with TAG & Renegade. First job out of college was a local Major BBS transitioning to dial-up ISP :)

@belghast *sigh* those were the days :)

@belghast I remember being crazy for text files from usenet the first time I found a BBS somewhere with some groups imported in as message bases

@belghast Yeah, I grew up in a tiny town too (pop. 4000) and had sleep overs at houses closer to the good area codes to avoid long distance :) Weird copy parties with C64s & Amigas lugged around

@belghast Yeah, I pretty much just had my eyes snag on "old BBS days" and I was like oh hey 👍

@jezzicuh @belghast Whoa, turbo speeds!

@bong I see your Megalomaniac and raise you a Messiah's Thunderdome youtube.com/watch?v=K-prVZR5jA

sure is a pretty game

@lindseyb Ooh, that's a nice gradient. Need to find a set like that for myself

An unsurprising thing about me: I could happily watch How It's Made all day. All. Day. sciencechannel.com/tv-shows/ho

(by the way, we've been watching How It's Made all Sunday morning so far)

And now How It's Made has me wanting to get a butterfly safety razor. Because they showed, you know, how they're made and it was neat.

Kinda like when I picked up fountain pens in the last few years: get the nice durable thing, fill it with the cheaper consumables. Literally reversing the razor-and-blades business model. Whoa.
