I feel like Gary Numan has progressed from that guy who has a better stock portfolio than me to that guy who has the better wasteland survival rig than me but yet it all somehow follows.
So I just got done with 2 weeks' off from work. Told myself I wanted to do some creative writing. Been telling myself I've wanted to do that literally for years.
Thing is, this time I did it? Had to make it all melodramatic. Took a long bike ride and ended up hanging out somewhere scenic along the Willamette River. Filled most of a Field Notes book with handwritten lies. Now I just have to do it again, hopefully somewhere slightly less impractical.
Also trying really hard to remind myself that my creative writing is currently unpracticed garbage and that I'm not somehow going to leap up a cliff face in a single bound and produce a novel worth reading any time real soon. But it's worth doing the work.
