@DanielEsq@c.im @kayvee2262@c.im A tricky thing about hashtag search is I think it only applies to the posts your local instance has seen - i.e. there is no such thing as a view of all of Mastodon

So, if someone has made a public post with the hashtag, AND someone on your instance follows them, THEN you might see that post in a search.
