I feel like this is a particular nexus of me-problems:

I needed some new blank journals. In the past, I've ordered them from Amazon. But, I remembered that there's a store less than a block from me selling them for the same price.

I often buy things from Amazon because I'm too tired to deal with my social anxiety going to a store. But also I believe I should shop local. So, I got up my gumption and went into the store.

The store folks were delightful, that's never the problem. They had my brand - Leuchtturm1917 dotted A5 journals. I hurriedly grabbed a couple off the shelf, paid, walked home.

At home, I discovered that I'd gotten them with Navy Blue covers rather than Black. I hate Navy Blue. I feel like that color's always tricking me into think it's Black when it's just slightly not. It's not the end of the world, but it's like misaligned socks.

So now I have two very nice blank journals in a slightly disappointing color. Trying to decide if I want to go another round with social anxiety to ask if they'll exchange them. Alternatively, I may just keep the Navy Blue and spend the next year or so working on acceptance of the color.

@xenophora My wife, who puts up with so much of my particular BS like this, suggested the same thing. This seems like a rather lemonade-from-lemons shaped option.

Also, I’ve had like a 7 year streak of filling exclusively black Leuchtturm1917 dotted A5 journals. I am also tempted to use this as a point to just say fuck it and branch out into other rainbow colors.

Again, not the biggest concern in the world but not nothing. Like I said, a nexus of me-problems 😅

Part of me daydreams about scanning them all and feeding them to a bot to learn my handwriting. But I'm not sure I'd want to subject a machine to the last few years of my daily brain spew 😅

Man, macOS really doesn't know what to do with multiple monitors these days does it? It's always a daily adventure

@bnys Yeah, I get that happening. The cmd-tab switcher shows up on a different monitor every day. All my windows are shuffled between screens every morning... bleh

@tpollard61 Well... I pretty much spend the first 10 minutes every day reassembling last night's working arrangement.

My windows are scattered randomly when I wake the machine up from sleep. The cmd-tab switcher decides which monitor to use at random. Sometimes the dock gets stuck on a random monitor. Full screen apps also get shuffled around onto random monitors.

And then some days, random monitors just don't even work until I flail at another sleep/wake attempt or unplug & replug thunderbolt

@rafial At one point in my life, it took me a long time to realize that a knife & a fork, a bottle & a cork, do not actually spell "New York"

@dustin Frustrating thing is I've had pretty much the same set of monitors for about 5 years now. They worked without a problem on a couple of Dell laptops running Windows. Just got an M1 MacBook Pro this year and things have gremlins

@cd0 I really don't want to knock it too hard because it seemed like it had promise when I was working there.

But I got that email this morning too, and the first thing I thought was "oh hey those avatars don't have legs either"
