@zwol You can set up static webfinger resources to make the site findable and followable, but activitypub is a push protocol not subscription.
So, you'll need an inbox endpoint to receive at least POST requests for follows, keep track of those, and then send out POST requests to notify when new content is available.
Pretty good summary re: static site usage here https://paul.kinlan.me/adding-activity-pub-to-your-static-site/
@sysop @mattsiegel@mastodon.social Did somebody say webrings?

Ohh, I think I just found the magic incantation to enable a generated static site on Glitch to get rebuilt on git push. This should be handy for the bot I'm tinkering with to manage fediverse ring membership

A puzzle I'm working through is how to keep the fediverse ring site itself as a generated static site while running a Mastodon API bot separately. The bot could run on Glitch, or here at home on a tiny computer.
All the bot really needs to do is update the contents of a CSV file on Glitch and trigger a rebuild of the static site.
Since the bot uses the API of a Mastodon server, it doesn't need to stay connected or running all the time. Doesn't need to run itself as a server. Could even run the bot on a cron schedule if I didn't care about it being super-responsive to DMs and commands. Could process its own notifications in periodic batches
@mc ahh, i see you are a person of culture as well
@mc Hmm, I can't find the keycaps for sale anymore, but they're a Cyrillic set I found a bunch of years ago. Thought they looked neat and couldn't find a lot of other cheap compatible sets. (I don't know any languages that use Cyrillic though 😅 )
