I blogged again, this time about the Docker shenanigans I’ve gotten up to with my new Synology NAS and VSCode

Also, thinking about ill-advised things I've tried doing with NAS devices before, I remembered that time when I (briefly) hosted my own IMAP email inbox on a Linksys NSLU2 in like 2005 or so.

That thing was pretty neat. Out years before the Raspberry Pi, not nearly as hackable or ubiquitous, but was still a fun little box.

@SecurityWriter haha i have done this with adhd, several times, and I mostly resorted to catastrophizing and burned out on book writing when i was done

@genehack It was a hard working slug, that slug

@maplesyrup @benbrown My blog is a DIY static site generator and, recursively, I blogged about it 😅

less than ideal anchovy health news

So, Anchovy's in the vet's care today. She got a small nose bleed last night that seemed to resolve but returned overnight. Vet's going to run tests and are working to keep her warm and delivering fluids. Might be a reaction to the thyroid medication we've been giving her.

Don't want to bum anyone out, but not sure what's up for her next.

I guess the good news is she gained a whole 5oz of weight in the past few weeks?

Looking through emoji on the work slack and amused to find there are more around train crashes and derailments than around untroubled trains.

@phillmv Yeah, I may have, uh, expensed this whole thing. It took a bit of wrangling and re-attempts, but it all did finally go through

I've got a lovely bunch of chat apps open

(once upon a time, these all were IRC for me, but we keep inventing new standards, see also xkcd 927)

@mythmon Well, if they're going to be separate apps, I do at least like spreading them out in the full-screen bar up there so I can get to them fast. And each chat app roughly corresponds to different purposes sorta
