So the weekend's tinkering got the basement RGB strip, black lights, and a couple of power outlets automated with Home Assistant. Music & video works maybe 1/2 the time via the Logitech Harmony Hub.
After dinner, I played a bit of Watch Dogs: Legion and realized that the home automation stuff kind of feels like hacking ctOS in the game.
I just need to get a spider drone to scuttle through my furnace ducts and I can play the Watch Dogs home game.
Also I can't quite decide if the Harmony Hub is particularly crap or whether IR blasters are generally awful tech
Of course, it also doesn’t help that the TV and receiver I’m using in the basement are both over 15 years old because I seem to take it as a personal challenge to reuse old crap til it expires. (Like, the TV is “HD” but has no HDMI ports)
