@Macross you wanna borrow my entire mp3 collection while you get better from that bronchitis?

(er, i meant physical CD collection stored in many actual boxes)

@Macross I actually finally ponied up for Plex Pass since they added a DVR for my HDHomeRun TV antenna. I'm probably the 11th user overall for that feature

@Macross Ohh, I have not tried this PlexAMP thing

@Macross oh nice PlexAMP plays FLAC files and tells me I’m old πŸ˜…

Unexpectedly interested in this boring-ass new tablet + stand from Google. I want to plonk it down on our kitchen counter and leave it there, except for occasionally picking it up for random things and recipes

Disappointed to have come up empty-handed while looking for a video reference to "DAMN THESE VISIBLE THOUGHT BALLOONS" from the old MTV show "The Idiot Box"

Sigh. I was going to sleep a little bit on this new $70 Zelda game, but my will may fail.

theguardian.com/games/2023/may

In recent years, I've mostly refused to buy any game for over $50, let alone right at launch, patient instead to wait for sales or Game Pass availability.

But, if any game's worth $70 it might be a good Legend of Zelda release

@misc Heh, I should edit that to add a description on how to use it (i.e. paste into the JS console from a page on substack where you're logged into your account)

@randomgeek Clearly a missed opportunity for chaotic evil thoughtleadership

But seriously, if you're going to try to sell a game for $70, it had better be a ridiculously immaculate gem of gaming history in the making with zarro boogs, no micro-transactions, and years of fun in store.

Otherwise, set your price goals quite a bit lower and scale back the effort.

@randomgeek Yeah, whenever I see opportunities for chaos, I remember that I'm the type who takes the shopping cart back to the store

Like, for $70, I can and will absolutely buy 5 amazing indie titles at $14 and have a happy blast even (or especially) if they're composed of MS Paint graphics and audio from sampled mouth noises and crash if I shift my butt the wrong way on the couch.

There’s been a v1.4 update to @ivory and they shipped a new UI for describing image uploads! Very nice!

Oh to be an orange boy on a sunny day 😺

@oliphant @angusm@mastodon.social @pluralistic Blindsight was one of the first books to get "Necker cube" stuck in my head as a term for that thing I kept forgetting how to describe πŸ˜…

@rlonstein @darkuncle One unfortunate thing is that Nintendo is also patient and very rarely sells anything at a significant discount. Like Pokemon Shield from 2019 still sells for $60, same as on release day
