@astatide This is an unexpected intersection of interests for me and now I too want this

Legend of Zelda: ToTK

Faced a dilemma last night, upon learning how easy it is to duplicate items in the current version of Tears of the Kingdom.

Not the ethical dilemma of playing the game fair & square, no.

Rather, the engineering dilemma of just how many rockets and lasers I can strap onto my sweet hoverbike, now that I have an easy route to maxing out my battery power.

re: Legend of Zelda: ToTK

I think I'm basically playing the game as an artificer.

Only got 4 hearts of health, but working on building out my battery while accumulating machine parts so I can assemble robot minions to fight. Also building stamina so I can climb and glide to explore and stay out of harm's way.

re: Legend of Zelda: ToTK

Saw a video last night where someone made a baddie-seeking Death Roomba with a target-tracking showerhead of lasers mounted on top. I'm gonna build that.

By the time I get to whatever the final boss is, I'll probably just send an ED-209 into the dungeon and sit outside to cook myself a nice brunch while it all works itself out.

One upshot from last week's acquisition of two new pair of glasses is that I'm constantly swapping. One for walking around the house, one for at the desk, and if I mix either up things get weird.

Technically, I can wear the walking-around pair at the desk, but I have to tip my head back like a doof all the time

I don’t think any generation that had slang gets to make fun of the new slang of a current generation

@astatide someday I should get on some ADHD meds πŸ˜…

@matteh If you feel like something 2D, take a look at A Link to the Past from the SNES era.

If you feel like something 3D, Ocarina of Time is a good entry if you're not diving right into the latest Tears of the Kingdom

@codeslave Joke's on me: both of these pairs of glasses are multi-focal / progressives!

It's just that the at-desk pair has more lens devoted to monitor-distance with a sliver at the bottom for close-up reading. My walking around pair has smaller zones for distance, sorta close, and up-close

@mathowie is that welsh?

@codeslave Well, the single-focus lenses I had before were turning to torture, but I'm starting to think this new scenario is an overcorrection

Stuck in my head again, today: The classic "Don't Touch Me" by Brak

@outofband YOU KNOW WHY SPACE GHOST CAN'T ZAP ME?! BECAUSE I'M NOT ANIMATED TO EXPLODE!

Have a weird urge to acquire one of these weird MSDOS neo-retro laptops just to run WordPerfect

@mos_8502 Oof, yeah, just saw that update. Seems dumb, like they could sell the hardware with the BIOS unmodified or with source code and still make a lot of folks happy

Why am I wrapping my New Nintendo 3DS in tinfoil and storing it in a Faraday cage, you ask? No reason. No reason at all.

@danhon You really gotta get your Korok Management System tuned by the right consultants

@annika How nice, he made you a handcrafted paperweight!

So I requested an archive of all my data from github, since I've never done that before and backups are good to have.

I got a tarball which, among other things, contains all 350+ of my repositories in git bare form. That's... kind of cool? And maybe useful? (Also I have a lot of repositories because, well, I do a lot of random crap)

@cmdr_nova FWIW, my account over there dates back to 2006 and I just basically went radio silent back in early Dec last year. Kinda sad but also, it's not the same twitter anymore

@cmdr_nova Yeah, I go through that kind of phase a lot. Thinking I want to go even further back and goad myself into blogging again πŸ˜…

Holidays always seem to sneak up on me, because I am nearly oblivious to the passage of days.

But I just heard "memorial day" and thought "more-zelda day, more like"
