That thing where I've been catching up on Slack for long enough that my anxious habitual self-ping to check Slack kicks in.

AI mutterings

I'm not so worried that AI efforts will spawn Skynet to literally kill us with nukes and lasers and drones.

I'm more worried that some shitty US health insurance company will hide behind an "AI" suggesting decisions that will effectively kill millions over the course of a decade or so.

And they'll just sort of shrug and handwave and say the computer said to do it. They can't help it if these mysteriously profitable decisions are also somehow deleterious to individual humans.

You know, same problems we've had with Cybercrud since the 70s and earlier - just deployed at even larger scales.
