Just reworked how my blog's site generator extracts a post summary. Let's see if this works?

One more (and I should really get back into this creative writing habit)
@maddiefuzz I've read that book 1 1/2 times, it really messed with my head. I should read it again
@maddiefuzz It also made me never trust footnotes ever again
@js This seems to be the contender https://lemmy.ml/
Thinking about folks adding AI generated NPC dialogue to games, I wonder if we’ll move from time-to-penis as a metric to time-to-hornt in player interactions?
Often I wonder if folks really do use the websites they build - and I don't just mean the devs, I mean the planners & managers & directors. I guess the metrics are good? Something must be working?
Thinking this today because I've lately been trying to use Flipboard again. It seems like 9 out of 10 news sites to which it sends me are just a centimeter-tall sliver of content on my phone screen, otherwise surrounded by ads & auto-play videos & assorted calls-to-action entirely unrelated to the thing I came there to read.
Switching manually over to "reader mode" in Flipboard helps, but I kinda wish it were the default - or, better yet, unnecessary.
But, like, who looks at this and says "yup, that's great, we've done a good thing"
@garbados This is the way
@cinja Hmm, I'll be interested to see if there's a way to do this. I'm under the impression that VSCode is very much a single-window-per-project app.
Like, I think you can move a terminal / output out of the sidebar and into the editor tab area, but not out of that window entirely 🤔
@lilithsaintcrow I do often wonder how I can employ my faulty sense of object permanence thanks to ADHD to hide things from myself, but it never seems to go on the fritz when I really want it to
@Macross Yeah, it kinda makes me just fall back to my RSS reader (Newsblur, these days), but I do like the Flipboard UI for a bunch of things.
@catvalente Fuckin "Ronaldo GameCube" - I am slain.
@Rob_T_Firefly I dunno, I might do a locomotion for Kylie if she asked, she's pretty rad
Happy pride month and I hope everyone finds that perfect brick to throw
With the fuckery around Reddit APIs, I'm peeking in at Lemmy again.
I wonder if it would be worthwhile setting up my own instance to use as sort of a personal pinboard alternative for link sharing and also to host an account from which I can comment on other instances' links?
@catvalente Yeah, no, I think it only enhanced the serious yet hilariously exasperated tone of the whole piece
Kinda wish I could make 373-784-4653 my phone number
Got Lemmy running in some Docker containers to play with. In terms of being a personal pinboard alternative for link sharing, it's missing tagging or hash tags. So, that might keep it from being handy for me, since I use tags as a way to find things later
Could just be that I'm aiming for a use case not intended to be addressed by Lemmy 🤷♂️
