This backup tool I've been working on suddenly can't fetch anything without signed requests. Slightly inconvenient, because I've been lazy about signing.
But, actually, it's a good thing insofar as it greatly limits scraping ποΈ

@hastur IIRC, it's that plumbing is the unfriendly commands meant for use in scripts but porcelain are the more human-usable bits hooked up to the plumbing
