Dipped into Nostr again last night because ADHD and the tech looks nifty.
Within 12 minutes of posting "setting up my nostr", I got 5 invites to buy random cryptocurrencies. Had to scroll & scroll to find anything in the global timeline not about Bitcoin. It's like a time capsule from 2018.
Would like to give Nostr a fair shake, but it's feeling like why I've never really gotten into ham radio - i.e. I'm not enthused by the crowd hanging out there
This feels like a living-in-the-future moment: I sent a text message to my optometrist a couple of blocks away asking to order more contacts. They sent back a link. I clicked it and paid for the contacts. The contacts will be there in a few days. I can walk over to pick them up - takes about 10 minutes, including the walk.
Like, none of this is particularly exotic, but it's kinda neat when it all works
