Still rather hot, here.

I just installed a small AC unit in my wife's office window. I turned it on to make sure it's working.

It's working, alright. I entered a fugue state and suddenly it's 90 minutes later.

The only bad part is now I want an AC unit for my office window. But, it's going to have to be a weird form factor for the ancient, weirdly sized windows.

Maybe a portable unit with hoses, which can be non-terrible. Or I'll have to see if one of those saddle or u-shaped units could fit.

@requiem I remember dialing up a BBS long distance at 300bps as a kid, not really understanding the charges. I played a real nice long game of some empire simulator that cost me that summer's lawn mowing money

Months ago, i put a wireless thermometer sensor somewhere outside the house. I just can’t remember where. And it’s not anywhere I can imagine a past-me would have put it.

It’s still working and it seems accurate to the weather - but when the batteries run down, i have no clue where to find it.

@jrconlin Yeah, this thing has 2 AAA "extended life" rechargeable batteries in it. I guess I'm also hoping it didn't fall somewhere weird and will get fried with the next big heavy rain, but eh?

The rest of my life is going to be an ever-accelerating series of time vertigo shocks.

"The Carnival is Over" by Dead Can Dance came up in a playlist shuffle. It occurred that the album came out in 1993, when I graduated high school.

That's too many decades ago.

@tomjennings I feel like I need to recruit a Scout going after an Orienteering badge for this

@tedder I, too, have a temperature probe in our attic and... :oof: can confirm

@KayEllen Oh, that's pretty slick!
