@onelson FWIW, I've had really good luck with my neglected static blog on AWS S3 + cloudfront. Costs under US$1 most months and sometimes I look at the S3 logs
@onelson Yeah, my main thing is probably momentum. I've been hosting this stuff on S3 since probably 2007 or so. These days I mainly use a github action to "deploy" after a git push

@onelson Yeah, I've flopped between jekyll, some other SSGs, and lately my own DIY trash.
Main thing is just to spew into a build directory and that action does the S3 needful. It doesn't care how the build directory content got there and I mostly don't care how it works (well, maybe a little, since I had to hack a second action for RSS feeds)

Personally, I took "stayed" as having spent at least one night sleeping, where "visited" was maybe having spent most of a day wandering around but not overnight.
e.g. I "visited" Ohio to go to an amusement park for a day and then drove back home. But I "stayed" in Florida to sleep in a hotel for a week. I "lived" in California because I rented an apartment and had all my stuff there
