Sorta lazy dinner attempt: i chopped up a bunch of veggies and some chicken and dumped some it all into the instant pot with some curry bricks. First time trying this stuff so 🤞 I didn’t botch the cooking skill check roll
@socketwench Ohh, beer instead of broth sounds like a nice solid pro tip!
@andeshand @Macross Yeah, it's a whole weird thing! https://www.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/why-is-japans-most-popular-curry-called-vermont-curry/Content?oid=27434116
This came to me in a dream:
“Ready to deal with those racing thoughts at night when you’re trying to doze off? Then check out Just Sleep 2024 - an alternative CPAP machine firmware from Ubisoft, the makers of Just Dance.”
Heard a Gary Numan cover, which instilled an urge to assemble a playlist of further Numan covers, wherein I remember that every band in the history of the planet has covered “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?”
(The instigating cover was EMF doing “We Are Glass”, so at least they were more adventurous)
Also I need to move my playlists somewhere better, but here’s a pile of Numan covers on Spotify

Meh, I'm probably back to Samsung & Android for my next phone. I've had an iPhone 13 for almost 2 years now and iOS has not pleased me.
Also dislike the whole idea of the "Dynamic Island": Would rather there wasn't a big void permanently punched out of the screen. It looks like the phone should be slid onto a pegboard rod in a store like a blister pack. (Yeah, yeah, I know, it's "extra screen" but it's really not)
Re: "action button", I've had version of that on Android phones for years now. What I actually liked was the physical silence switch.
Always-on display and "standby" have been Android things for awhile, too.
Also wish iPhones (and recent phones in general) would either move or eliminate the off-center camera bump that makes it a wobbly slab when set down without a case
At least iPhone does USB-C now?
I know my wishlist for a phone is weird, though. It's way easier for me to make an Android phone do all the inadvisable garbage I want a phone to do. See also my toot yesterday about reusing old phones for tinkery bullshit, which is not nearly as easy to do with Apple hardware.
@peter Anecdotally, I've had a lot of luck with Samsung phones. I'm still using a few from 5-7 years ago for random projects
Some of these views of the Apple Campus UFO make it look like the game Fallout Shelter.
Someone should make that game! I can totally see the UI for rotating the grid strip of rooms around for managing crap
@peter Admittedly, I replaced the battery on 2 of them after they turned to spicy pillows. But, that was at least not too onerous with an ifixit kit
@devrandom I've got memories of getting that CD and listening to it on a late-night, 3 hour drive from college to my parents' house and being way spooked. I had that and an X-Files original soundtrack on the trip
@peter I blame using a cheap wireless charger that kept things a bit too warm? Could be superstition
Look at that beautiful cable tethering workflow
I also keep kind of wanting an Apple Watch when what I really want is a Pip-Boy
@Macross Yeah, that's pretty great longevity right there
@aronow holy crap that ghost is adorable
@jalefkowit just write more softly dude
Suddenly had the feeling I was being watched and realized it’s dinner time #cats
