So McCarthy got voted out as speaker. I'd seen a tiktok that said he needed to name an interim replacement on the way out.

But, I guess he could have named himself as that replacement? Frankly, I'm surprised that didn't happen.

So, now, I'm trying to decide if 45 days before the next shutdown threat is a long enough span to attempt a passport renewal?

Or if it's likely my existing passport will be banished to the phantom zone if I try to mail it before the new year?
