21st Century Roguelike Pac Man
"Pac-Man was great in the 80s, but it doesn't quite match up to today's standards, so I added a couple of features that every modern game needs to have.
Okay, so this game sounds like a shitpost but also it just sucked me in for like the past 3 hours. π

@patterfloof @rtyler Sort of, though this is more in the sense that the tech has never been lost, itβs continually added-to while in constant operation.
Imagine a 10,000 year old starship with rotating crews who take shifts in cryosleep between trade stops. You pick up a new interstellar ramscoop and have to figure out how to rig it up with undocumented software drivers written by your great-great-great-grandmother
Another day, another morning wherein macOS just shrugs at the monitors I have plugged in. It forgot what resolutions the ultrawide one does and shuffled all my windows between the other two.
Oh! And the middle monitor goes on the left now, with the left-most monitor now set to the right of the laptop itself. A fun little brain teaser to solve over breakfast
A truly magical experience
You'd think I have some exotic array of displays, but it's just three - two external and the laptop's own.
I've had this arrangement for a long time. It worked pretty well on macOS around 10 years ago. It worked great on Windows & Linux for about 7 years. It has given me nothing but headaches on macOS over the past 3 years.
Just saw an advertisement for a hands-free toothbrush system. We truly are living in the future.
@alex Huh, that worked, and more convenient than unplugging / replugging the thunderbolt cable. π€·
@kellogh next, you're gonna tell me to take the bus rather than disrupting the transit industry :flan_eyeroll:β
@GrantMeStrength Are you threatening to pitch it off the overpass? I felt that way sometimes, trying to type on it
@GrantMeStrength Ah, now that sounds like a promising upgrade!
Picked up a working USB DVD drive over the weekend and decided to rip a box of discs I found in the basement.
Absolutely forgot Iβd gotten this massive set of scifi garbage for xmas one year. 12 double-sided DVDs full of crap from the 50s-70s. Tempted to rip it and start a copyright violating pirate stream to make fun of em all
(I mean that's basically rifftrax / mst3k without any of the effort or talent)
@Jurd Yeah, I think I'd be more worried about the second box set I have, which has more stuff from the 80s & 90s π€
