Hey, anybody remember searching the Internet with Archie?
Haha, yeah, I too feel like I fell down a hill just from sleeping a full night in bed.
I just misread "request load" as "request lord" and now am pondering what rituals & offerings are required by the deity of uptime
@c0debabe "There's no such thing as goat fan-bois." This is the one questionable assertion I've seen so far in this list.
@maddiefuzz @astrid @liz have you considered moving to an abandoned missile silo as a secret lab?
@elithebearded Once upon a time, I got kicked off a dial-up BBS because I discovered how through FidoNet to search FTP via email via fidonet gateway - and then how to request downloads from FTP via email via fidonet gateway.
Turns out sysops don't like when you clog the store-and-forward network with amiga demos
@BathysphereHat Nah, I'm not nearly that good. These are just other folks' designs on printables.com
(i'm kind of obsessed with this purple filament, and am alarmed that it's out of stock)

@socketwench I have had thoughts of printing printers and have my eyes on printing parts for a dremel-based CNC machine
@george Yeah, next thing is I'm looking at random bare-board projects around the house and thinking they need cases, so I'll have to figure that out
@hittitezombie @george Yeah, I kinda just want to keep making stuff to give away!
@socketwench I really went into forced hyper-focus mode over the weekend to get this 3d printer assembled, since I got the kit and was in high danger of ADHDing that project into next year. I will probably now have several half-baked projects start to accumulate π
@quinnanya holy crap, you've got amazing ideas for this stuff!
@skippy It's been pretty smooth sailing for me so far π€ I built it from the kit and didn't have much calibration to dial it in.
Otherwise, it's been downloading STL files from printables.com and running through PrusaSlicer, then uploading to the web interface.
Main gripe is that I also bought the enclosure kit, which requires partial disassembly and reassembly of the printer to integrate it. Beyond that, I have a bunch of basic learning to do around modelling
I just made instant ramen for lunch and dumped some leftover turkey in, I am a genius.
Update: i just realized we have some crispy fried onions leftover from the green beans. My genius grows
Also also, this print is looking pretty stringy. So, I think I am learning an important lesson about humidity and looking forward to my dessicant delivery later this week.
Thinking I may use this lil model as an excuse to learn how to encode a manual filament change so I can print the raised lettering in a different color
