Just following orders from @benbrown and petting the book
@c0debabe that's just kinda mean right there
So, I'm decluttering my office a bit. I find a bag of comics that I've been meaning to finish reading for awhile.
Inside the bag is a receipt dated 2018.
:dead:
@randomgeek @minego I feel like a decent chunk of the DSM is how a particular condition annoys other people and not how it affects the condition-haver
@rasterweb Seems like that might be just slightly less cursed than a Tap-A-Line from the 50s? 😅
Looking forward to whenever I can manage my next live stream from the workbench. Finding some real funky chiptunes to play through this sound card!

@SpindleyQ I learned 6502 assembly and got my first copy of Atlas Shrugged from the same guy in the mid-80s
Gee I love Apple health. Started a habit of 30 min on an exercise bike with the new year, have done it every weekday morning so far this year.
Apple health tells me my workout habits have decreased because I happened to have had a few hour-long walks back in December. So encouraging
@randomgeek Sometimes I miss ye olde days of the Enlightenment WM where everything looked like Kai's Power Tools for no good reason
@kattni @craigmaloney Oh fuck cancer, just absolutely fuck it
I first met Craig back in like 2004 or so. I ran my blog on decafbad.com and he ran his blog on decafbad.net. He reached out, we chatted, and then he mailed me a crapton of CD-Rs with Rush live shows.
I'm not a very social animal, so I only ever hung out with him a few handfuls of times at Coffee House Coder nights and Penguicon. But, I'd like to think he was a friend. He was a good egg and he knew where his towel was. He was always happy to see me and the feeling was mutual.
@kattni @craigmaloney Also, thank you for letting us all know, this shit is hard
Whew, lad. I just keep receiving little packets of information over the past weeks which make it exceedingly difficult to persist in my personal emulation of a functional node of productivity
The annoying thing is that each of these packets are distinct, different perturbations to my system - and yet the show must go on, the spice must flow, the livelihood must be maintained, yadda yadda
The worst is all the lovely weather
I'm stunned, it's not raining
The coffee isn't even bitter
Because, what's the difference?
@thegibson Along with just having known him for about 20 years, Craig was also one of the main mensches I'd think of whenever I'd be like "hmm, i should quit this twitter thing and talk to folks more over on that ostatus network" before Mastodon was ever a thing.
@livingshredder oof, like that was their chance to copypasta some transient chat info into a more persistent medium. :swearing:
Also @craigmaloney was one of the few people who managed to talk me into leaving my hermitage to give a public in-person talk at MUG about FirefoxOS, back in 2013. For an elusive critter like me, that's really saying something
(also not saying this to brag or whatever - FirefoxOS died off and I'm sure my talk was a disaster - point is he managed to talk me into it, which was super-heroic)

I also half-expected to see @craigmaloney hit "like" on this toot, which is oof

SLACK DM SLACK DM OH IT'S A SLACK
@emma Frankly, if I had my druthers, I'd make it illegal for any public official to not use a public-supported social media service
@mhoye oh dang, that's slick
@cendyne just blinked at this repeatedly for a full 30 seconds

@lzg you haven't lived unless you've said HELO to a server on port 25
