I'm very tired of magical computing
Wandering into the stream late, seeing features that I seem to remember already having used on windows & linux.
Like, I had phone mirroring with Windows + Android a years ago. Window tiling's been a thing for a good long while too. But I guess it's ✨ magical ✨ now?
Also... "today's cutting edge games... like Death Stranding" (from 2019) :blobrofl:
IMO, one of the more exciting things coming to iPhone gaming is this third-party magsafe sliding gamepad accessory
Ope, Apple Intelligence (AI), time for a drink
(not because I'm playing a drinking game but just because)
oh no buffer overflow on the presentation screen
@thegibson nobody's gonna push her over, she'd just be like "nah" with that wide stance
It makes me twitch a little when I see someone put a phone in their back pocket
@net_run my ass would pulverize them 😅
huhu image dong
@socketwench oof, I'm so sorry, I have been there and it's not fun
I bailed out of the stream for a meeting. But hey, you know something occurred to me: Didn't Apple make a VR headset a long time ago? Whatever happened with that thing?
I guess the real gripe I have with all this Apple crap is much of it so often seems like a rehash of stuff from other products. And the only real "magic" is that finally this thing came to their nearly-closed ecosystem with a bit of polish.
But, I don't care overmuch for polish vs functionality and flexibility, these days. I've never bought entirely into the Apple ecosystem, so their shit rarely plays well with all my other stuff - even the cables are weird.
I used to really, really like Apple but my positive sentiment has thoroughly eroded one papercut at a time. It's disappointing, because I like liking computers
I still don't want to talk to computers
EVERYBODY SHUT UP I'M TELLING SIRI TO SET A TIMER
@frumble I don't want to talk to my computer via typing in chat either
@mitten I was already doing that with highlighter pens, was that weird?
@frumble But it's so magical and they really want me to do it
Scientifically speaking, "ChatGPT is bullshit"

@wolfger I'll ask GPT4o to summarize, it's very technical
@w8emv @csalzman @eikenberry FWIW, I have a handful of these SONOFF S31 smart plugs reflashed with ESPHome to work with Home Assistant.
They're indeed in-line, transmit power via relay and monitor various things like current & voltage & etc. They claim they're rated for 15A? I ran a coffee pot off of one for awhile, but haven't tried a washer or dryer

@c0debabe I had a Treo 300, Treo 650, and then a Centro - and I miss them all
