Maybe all on the same planet and they venture into undiscovered lands? Maybe in Starjammer-style ships sailing the aether between worlds? Maybe traveling across the multiverse to parallel realms?

Main thing isn't so much dungeons & dragons but to seek out new life & new civilizations

@awoodsnet Well, I'm thinking maybe the Trek part at least: could be a caravan of wagons instead of a ship, stops here and there to camp and investigate interesting things found out on a new (to them) frontier.

Could come up with some conceit as to why it's mostly undiscovered to them. Maybe a civilization recovering from calamity (which Earth in Star Trek kinda did)

I guess that easily slips into "it's a western" like "Wagon Train to the Stars, Minus the Stars" 😅
