I never manage to catch #monsterdon due to conflicting life things, but i also never regret following the hashtag
I don't want to be hyperbolic or overreact, but this reads to me a lot like "oh shit, maybe they really are spying on our conversations via phones to target us with ads?"

I'm pretty complacent about my phone - i.e. I want it to "just work" - so I don't often play with custom firmware or jailbreaking in recent years.
But shit like this has a part of me wanting to get myself set up with the most jailbroken, aftermarket-firmware'd pocket computer isolated from the ecosystems and just deal with the torrent of papercuts that comes with all that
Really, it's mainly exhaustion that keeps me from being more actively mad about this whole phenomenon of companies selling us things of which they somehow still retain ownership.
It's like sell your cake and eat it too. I buy a gadget - and then the gadget seller presumes to claim it as part of their own infrastructure. And they presume that I myself am a resource to be harvested beyond the sale price.
Sweet crimony it's bullshit
A problem with building an RSS feed reader as a side project is that I keep using it to read RSS feeds and clutter up the browser window I was using for doco to help build the reader
